Amy Chen, Esq. is a Senior Attorney at the National Health Law Program, where she works on sexual and reproductive health law and policy. Before joining NHeLP, Amy worked at Bay Area Legal Aid in Oakland, California for eight years, where she provided direct legal services to individuals and families across the San Francisco Bay Area. Amy is a second generation Taiwanese American. She grew up in Orange County and has lived in Irvine since 2017. She has three children between the ages of 6 and 13. They all attend public school in Irvine.

Hieu Nguyen, LCSW, MBA currently serves as Orange County Health Care Agency’s Director of the Office of Population and Equity. The Office aims to increase HCA’s impact and actions related to addressing health disparities and advancing health equity. Hieu previously served as the Director for System of Care at Mind OC, a non-profit organization that seeks to collaboratively transform the mental health system in Orange County.

Hieu holds a Master of Social Work degree from California State University, Long Beach; Master of Business Administration from Brandman University-A Chapman University System; and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of California, Irvine.

Aliyah Angel Guina (they/she) is the Policy and Communications Coordinator for the Center for Asian Americans in Action and Coalition Coordinator at Abundant Community Transformations. Between these spaces, they provides administrative and policy support for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander-serving community-based organizations across Orange County.

Aliyah is a 2.5-generation Filipinx/a American born in San Jose, raised in Sacramento, and now lives and works in the Greater Los Angeles Area. They received a BA in Public Health Policy from UC Irvine. In their free time, they enjoy playing video games, creating art, and exploring and appreciating the cultures and communities across Southern California.

Amy Capelle earned an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and holds a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Education Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and the Public Leadership Credential from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. As the Board President of Journey School, she has led the school successfully through the pandemic. In 2015, Amy’s first children’s book, “From Manila with Love,” was published by Tahanan Books and is now in its second printing.
