OC Families in Action is calling for entries!
Call for Entries! Kids and young people are paying attention to what’s happening throughout the world, and we know some of the best ideas come from youth. What are some ways our government, schools or communities can help elevate the voices of young people? What are your ideas for making sure kids can make an impact in decision-making processes, like elections, even if they can’t vote yet? Tell us why it’s important for our public institutions to hear from K-12 students in Orange County, CA.

CONTEST RULES
ELIGIBILITY:
K-12 grade student residing and attending school in Orange County, California. Winners from the previous year’s contest may apply again.
CATEGORIES:
Speech, spoken word, or poetry. 3 minutes maximum when performed.
GRADE DIVISIONS:
Primary: K-5
Middle School: 6-8
High School: 9-12
HOW TO ENTER:
Please fill out this Google Form to enter. Be sure to include your YouTube video link and PDF below. Do NOT use a school assigned email in case we need to reach you if there are issues with your submission. https://bit.ly/ocfia24
Make sure to set the video to unlisted when uploading. For help, see instructions on how to upload YouTube videos .
You will need a Google Account to submit a PDF to this form. If you do not have a Google Account, please send your PDF via e-mail to admin@aaactioncenter.org with the subject line ” YOUR NAME – 2024 Voice PDF.”
Submission must be original work. (It’s ok to ask an adult for help with recording and submitting!)
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
The deadline to submit is 6:00PM PST on September 13, 2024. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of community leaders. Winners will be contacted the week of September 23, 2024. Must be an Orange County resident and student.
PRIZES!
We will have 10 winners total:
4 primary students – $50 Award
3 middle school students – $100 Award
3 high schools students – $150 Award
Select winners may have the opportunity to perform on stage at the 22nd Annual Irvine Global Village Festival on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

EDUCATORS! We are providing $50 gift cards to five (5) educators that commit to having their students submit to the contest by the deadline on September 13, 2024. Interested educators should reach out to us via email at admin@aaactioncenter.org expressing interest in group submissions by June 1, 2024.
