Summer 2026 Policy Intern/Volunteer

The Policy Intern/Volunteer will work with the Executive Director and/or Program Coordinator to support our policy and programs work around one or more of the following issues: Medicaid/Medi-Cal, immigration, language access, budget advocacy and K-12 education. This is a remote position with flexible hours. This is an unpaid internship, though we can work with your educational institution to provide class credit when available.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct research, track and analyze state and/or federal legislation or regulations on one or more of the above issue areas

  • Draft internal and external materials, fact sheets, comment letters and/or other written content

  • Attend (in-person or virtually) county meetings, committee hearings, and other relevant events

  • Communicate regularly with the Director by email and virtual check-ins
